Kumpuni is a mobile marketplace app that connects customers in the Philippines with local home-service and tourism-service professionals. This app is operated by [Kumpuni's registered business name — pending] ("Kumpuni," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Kumpuni app collects, why, and how we handle it.
Account & profile: your name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never visible to us as plain text), phone number, and your province and city. Professional verification: if you register as a professional, a government ID photo, NBI clearance photo, a selfie, your bio, years of experience, and the services you offer. Job activity: service requests you create (including any details you provide, whether free text or answers to service-specific questions), quotes submitted by professionals, messages exchanged in a job's chat (including any photos or phone numbers you choose to share there), and ratings/reviews you leave or receive. We do not currently collect precise GPS location — only the province/city you select. We do not currently process payments in-app; any payment for a job is arranged directly between you and the other party, outside the app.
To create and secure your account; to match customers with relevant professionals; to let you request services, receive and compare quotes, message the other party on an accepted job, and leave or read reviews; to verify a professional's identity before they can receive job requests; and to communicate with you about your account and activity on Kumpuni.
We process your information because it's necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the marketplace service you signed up for), because you've consented to specific uses (such as sharing your phone number in a chat), or because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the platform safe (such as reviewing a professional's verification documents).
Other users, as part of how the marketplace works — e.g. a professional you message sees your name and shared contact details; a customer comparing quotes sees a professional's name, bio, and rating. Our infrastructure providers — the app runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, and file storage). Firebase processes data on our behalf to operate the app and doesn't use it for its own purposes. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers — Kumpuni doesn't currently use any analytics or advertising SDKs. We may disclose information if required by Philippine law or a valid legal process.
Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in Singapore (the asia-southeast1 region) — the nearest available region to the Philippines at the time this app was built. This means your data does leave the Philippines to be processed and stored, though it stays within Southeast Asia.
We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile and associated data, except information we need to keep for legal, tax, dispute, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), you have the right to be informed about how your data is processed, to access it, to correct it, to object to certain processing, and to have it erased or blocked, subject to legal retention requirements. You can update most of your information directly in Settings, or delete your account entirely from Settings > Account Management. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
We rely on Firebase Authentication for password security and Firestore/Storage security rules to control who can read or write your data — for example, only you can read your own verification documents, and only the two people on a job can read that job's chat. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately for what it is.
Kumpuni is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18 years old.
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "last updated" date below when we do; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
